Anyone know the true difference between a decade maple and the old MRX masters custom extras?
I know the plys are thinner, but is it a different type of maple?

I think it's been said that the Decade Maple is an Asian maple. Now are MRX shells American hard maple? I don't know.
Again I'm just saying I THINK I RECALL. I could be wrong or the memory could of been from someone who didn't know either.
I'm no help at all, but I tried!
Thats what I was thinking. Hopefully Al or someone will chime in!

You're right. Decade uses Asian Maple and Masters uses North American hard rock maple
The difference between the two is simple .. Asian maple is less dense, has a lower janka scale, grows faster in warm climate of Asia and is cheaper
Oh .. and Masters has 8 lug floor toms unlike 6 on Decade .. haha
Decade Maple 7pc demo by Nick D' Virgilio kit sounds killer me thinks.
