THE WAIT IS OVER!!

So I first started my order a year ago come September and took several months to settle on specs....long enough to luck out and catch the new 2017 black nickel hardware offering. And after going two different directions on finish and fretting over it...I sent in two guitar pics as inspiration that I wanted blended into one finish, and this is what Pearl cooked up. COULDN'T BE HAPPIER!!! Transparent Whale Blue Burst over Tamo... This kit was no lie 18 years of dreaming ... it's about time.

These pics were taken just as the boxes were opened so please excuse the poor lighting.

Sizes/Plys (inner to outer) ... thin plys a la reference pure (mahogany inners all around for "looks")

8x7 / 6 (2 mahogany, 2 birch, maple/tamo)
10x8 / 6 (2 mahogany, 2 birch, maple/tamo)
12x9 / 6 (2 mahogany, 2 maple, maple/tamo)
15x12 / 8 (4 mahogany, 2 maple, maple/tamo)
18x15 / 8 (4 mahogany, 2 maple, maple/tamo)
22x18 / 10 (6 mahogany, 2 maple, maple/tamo)

Haven't tuned and just roughly set up...out of the box that 18" floor resonates EXTREMELY LOW for days....you can feel the pressure waves. Currently too pillowy feeling and low in pitch for my preference, but I'm already in love. Can't wait to explore and see what these can do. Currently have coated ambassadors on top with clears on resos...also exploring different heads.

Hoping to have time enough in the next few weeks to really get the ball rolling, but thought y'all would be interested in checking out the finish?!?

Neat! That finish is definitely unique. Tamo never fails to please. How do you feel about the 15x12? Had you owned or played something similar before? And does it do what you want?

Cant wait for setup pics, not usually a blue kit fan, but that looks beautiful, much more classy than just a block blue, and the black hardware is the perfect compliment for it.

That is a beautiful finish. I don't normally care so much for tamo (I'm a bubinga guy), but that looks just great. I am extremely jealous of your hardware. I LOVE black nickel. Pearl introduced it the year after I placed my Masterworks order so I missed out, otherwise I would have ordered it for my kit. It looks just fantastic on your kit. Nice job all the way around with your selections. Congratulations!

I didn't even detect the blue, until several looks at your pics. I kept thinking "where's the blue?" I see it now. Your new kit is gorgeous! That Tamo veneer is off the chain!

This is really something special dude. Congrats on getting your dream kit! I've been wanting a Masterworks kit for about ten years now. Problem is, I keep changing my mind about the configuration. So many options!
