That's a pretty shell interior. Pearl still hits African Mahogany out of the park!

That was my reaction to it when i pulled it out of the box. My 3 year old pulled me into my drum room last night just to show me how shiny and sparkly it is. Its a wonderful drum.

The reason for this snare was that i went to try and get more add-ons for my B/B, but they had been fully discontinued. So i said "well screw it. Im going to get a custom drum made." being a fan of pearl as well as tama, masterworks just made sense. Its a 14"x6.5" shell made of 6 plies of outer maple and 4 plies of inner mahogany, rounded 45 degree bearing edges, s-1000 strainer and obviously black die cast hoops and tube lugs. Diamond burst finish as ive always been in love with it. I was told 6 months until completion, but it only took 3 months. I wont say the sound is $1000 sound, as i didnt expect it to be. But the quality, build and materials are all top notch. And the way the drum feels to play is unreal. This is one of the most sensitive snares ive ever played, even with how thick the shell is. And its pretty cool to have an instrument that was made from the ground up to my specifications.

They really do. I have a Session studio select with the mahogany interior that i love to look at when i pull it off the rack. (its also one of my favorite drums i own.) But this SLP G Bubinga is some gorgeous wood too.

Marv has that drum as well... gorgeous shells! I don't have that SLP, but I have several others... and they are a great value. Tama has so many gorgeous woods in their arsenal, it's hard to keep track of all of them. This one is off most drummer's radar... it's open-pore, eastern red cedar.

Thats a beautiful drum. Heres my current collection minus the masterworks. My go to live drum has been the black Metalworks steel. Its a little darker than most steels and sounds just punishing for the metal i play. and i only paid $130 for it so if something happens to it at a gig, i wont be toooo upset.

Heres the link to a video from the last show i played a few months back. Tiny stage, and i think i missed a cymbal crash, but the guitar solo sounds good and i only look a little fat. https://www.facebook.com/10000558651...847143&sfns=mo

That’s just simply gorgeous! A piece of art

Love the sparkle on the finish ! Like it’s from the cosmos.
