Default Selling my masters kit in the morning

I have a love hate relationship with this drumset. Mostly love, 10% hate
Its been an incredible and fun drumset to own, but there has been one thing about it that i do not like.
    the tom depths.
I am accustomed to the dw fast sizes(8x7,10x8,12x9) an those are the depths i find my comfort level with for my setup.
These toms are 8x8,10x9,12x10,13x10.. i didnt think 1 inch would make a big difference but after a couple months i just can not get comfortable no matter how i set it up(typically only run 8,10,12 on the rack,13 dont get used).
I also just havent loved the sound of the kit, ive liked it, but i just dont love the sound. Not sure if its the 4ply shells or the added inch in depth, but they dont have the resonance or sing like the reference kits toms.

I recently picked up a double bass reference kit(2 bass drums, 10,12 rack 14 floor) and am in love with it. Tom sizes are right and the kit just sings, so it only makes sense to let my masters go to a good home. Ive got an 8" and 16" tom on order for the reference, its going to be a long and bare 6 months, but ill make it through haha.

anyways here are some pics before the new owner picks it up. Glad i got a chance to own this beast!Name: 20108087_493548684311303_780215450_o.jpg

You'd hate mine then! 8x8, 10x10, 12x10, 13x11 and 14x12. But I do know what you're saying, at least about positioning - I went from a kit with 12x8, 13x9 and 14x10 toms to the 2" deeper ones on the CZX and it was a different ball-game getting a comfortable set up. I got there, and have been perfectly happy with it for the past 12 years (or whatever it's been) since. I do think though, if I were to order a new kit, I might drop an inch on the tom depths.

Nice kit. The color would take a little getting used to, but overall it looks like like a gem. It's apparent you've taken good care of it. The new owner is getting a beautiful instrument.

As for tom depths, I'm pretty flexible. I'm tall and sit kinda high so I can comfortably play just about any tom depth without a problem. Heck, I used to play a 13" diameter x 12" deep Tama tom atop a 24" bass drum!

I have owned both models of kits so I get what you are saying. I like the Ref sound a little more myself, but I'm still happy with Masters. One difference though is that my MCX is the fusion tom sizes, otherwise like you I would also not prefer the rock tom depths for positioning.
