Default SSC - Amazing Kit at Any Price...

I have a new SSC kit in beautiful red sequoia. Took off the ghastly pinstrips, coated Emps on top, clear Ambis on the bottom, the 13" Tom sounds like a floor Tom!!! I don't see how this is referred to as a "Mid Level Kit" they blow away my top of the line Ludwigs, (Maple with Re-rings) that cost 2x as much...

Thanks! I have a10", 12" 13" 14" 16" 22" kick. In the beautiful "Sequoia Red", I am using a NOS Tama 14" x 5" (Circa 1985) steel snare, it's like a Supraphonic on steroids... My cymbals are Sabian El Sabor series, they all (22" ride, 16" and 18" crash have a slight flange on the edge, (about 1") that give them an inherently different sound ... 14" crash on the way!!! My hats are NOS Zildjian 14" rock hats (circa 1985-1990) needless to say, I highly recommend these drums. My last kit was a Ludwig-Dunnett Stainless steel kit; (retail on those were over $6,000!!!) the only drawback was the weight. I never thought this "Mid level" kit would blow them away.... Jake... PS- Pics on the way!!!

Agreed. Owned mine since 2012 and as far as I'm concerned, they're a pro kit; 10 lug bass drums, virgin kick drums, optis, super hoops, fantastic finishes and great sound. I have the same sizes as you, minus the 13 (10/12/14/16/22). Also have a matching 5.5x14 snare. All in Sheer Blue. Congrats. Name: image.jpg
