    Default Majyk's Sonor SQ² 2015

    Hi there PDF !

It's been quite a long time, glad to see the board is still up and running. I spent quite an insane amount of time around, over 10 years ago !

So, I'm not coming back empty handed, wouldn't be appropriate.

My rehearsal room and dark clubs being quite awful places to take decent pics, I finally took time to set up my SQ2's in the living room, 3 years after getting them.

I'm still amazed by those drums. I wanted a Designer since I was 13 (20 years ago...), I'm glad Sonor updated its successor with lighter and simpler hardware.

I was looking for bigger floor toms, with the small tom toms I like, keeping a coherent set of toms and staying away from a monster (been there)... That's why I went with that 8/10/12/15/18 set of toms. I've since stripped the kit for my current band, fits my needs perfectly !

    Specs :
    medium maple toms
    10x9 15x14 18x16 (8x8 and 12x10 were on a camping trip)
    heavy maple bass drum
    22x18

    Artist Cottonwood 14x6
Artist Birch Art Design 12x5 (extra snare stand stolen, new one on the way...)

    Cymbals:
    Paiste Twenty
    Hi hat 15"
    Thin crash 17"
    Light ride 20"
    Ride 22"
    China 20"

or, depending on the mood :

Hi hat 17" (thin crash Twenty / metal crash Twenty Custom)
    Thin crash 19"
    Light ride 20"
    Light ride 22"
    China 20"

Pearl hardware, mostly modified, including a custom strap demon drive.

Last but not least, the pics !

You can always tell that a drummer is living at a place when there are cymbal stands all over the living room bookshelves.

Absolutely beautiful, and your hardware customizing is top notch as always.

Lovely lit. I also have the cottonwood snare and can vouch for its versatility. The Art design snare is very nice too, although I went with a 12x5" Delite maple.
Check out my incomplete snare drum collection thread. I like it and think it is quite charming. :)
