thanks for the kind words everyone. Along with drum building, I've also been doing other woodworking projects including a King size bed frame and headboard for a friend and his wife. This is made from solid Douglas fir, including a 6 x 6 post cut into cross sections for the 3D headboard design.

I had no idea (at the time in 2017) how expensive solid wood furniture was and a comparable frame and headboard would cost anywhere up to $2500. They bought the materials (around $300 if memory serves) and I built it for them as a house warming gift after they purchased their first home on Vancouver Island. It the first big furniture build I've ever done and it turned out nicely and they love it.

I also built this cherry foyer table for a friend and his wife as they were looking for something similar and it was going to cost around $800. Again, they purchased the materials and I built it for them. It's solid cherry in the "Mission/Craftsman" style, all doweled and glued with no fasteners, and dovetailed poplar drawers with cherry drawers fronts. 32" tall, 15" deep and 48" wide with 4 coats of Tung Oil finish. They love it and I was very happy with how it turned out as that was the first time I'd ever cut dovetails.

Jeff! Welcome back to the forum. That kick looks absolutely amazing! I'd love to have the space for some wood-working tools... I'd also love to know how to use them, lol. The furniture is beautiful. I especially like that table with the drawers. The dovetail looks perfect.

Great looking furniture pieces! Traditional joinery is something I don't think I'll have the patience for until I retire. Until then, pocket holes and brackets.

quick update... so I picked up the last of my parts last night and have everything I need to complete my shells. Exciting!

I have a few other things I need to finish up before I can really dive into them but it shouldn't (famous last words) be more than a few weeks and I'll have a playable kit ready to take some pics.
