Looks great. Aesthetically, I think they need the vent hole grommet instead if just the hole. The hole looks really clean but a vent grommet would look complete. Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

My SJ snare has just the hole. I think it totally fits with the aesthetic.

    UPDATE - Toms are done!

Did final assembly today and tuned them up using the "Rob Brown Tuning Method" (works amazingly well) and they sound great. The 10" in particular has such a pure, sweet tone yet no lingering, unwanted sustain that I nearly shed a tear. I'd like to experiment in a better room and see what they can really do but for now they are complete. Only the floor tom to go.

Thanks again to forum member TWH for donating the Pearl Opti-mounts. I'm sure they help contribute to the tone and I think they fit with my aesthetic.

*edit* for those with a keen eye, you'll see clips from 'the Last Jedi' on my TV in the back ground. That's because I was watching the "Mr. Plinkett" review of the Last Jedi. Great stuff from Red Letter Media if you haven't seen it.

I had the completed parts of my kit set up to have a play today as my buddy came over to check them out and snapped a couple of pics.

I'm really happy with how everything is sounding so far and my buddy, who is a very high-level player, said they sound amazing. Very encouraging considering I really had no idea what they would end up sounding like.

I'm hoping to make some progress on the floor tom in the upcoming week, fingers crossed.
