i get it....as long as your parts are not too complicated and the drums aren't flyin 4 feet over the BD,you're good to go.ergos is very important for me. probably because the very close reach set up i'm used to, and my hats location . then any classic set up gets me lost quite some LOL..

My band will be playing Trinity River Festival. It's a charity gig featuring like 32 or 36 bands. That's us way on the bottom " Suburban Rocket Launcher "

We play a 4 o'clock on Saturday. Doesn't sound like a great time slot but the music starts at 11:00 that morning so I don't think it's to bad.

I'll be playing my Session Elite kit. I want to take the MCX but I don't have a case for the 22x18 kick.

We only play 13-14 songs but should be fun.

But with work schedules we missed practice two weeks ago. Then Easter made for a no practice and today I had my gallbladder removed.

That was at 8 this morning. I'm sore and doubt I can practice this week. May be a sloppy 13 songs!

Hope you heal well from your surgery. Concerning the gig, who knows ya'll might sound really good. Sometimes our band sounds better with a few weeks off. 13 or 14 songs that's a big number!

Update: I started this thread when I bought the Prestige Session Elite kit. A lot has changed in the 6 years since I joined PDF. At the time I had a Yellow Flash Pearl Export 9 piece and the purchased the Session kit for $100.

I also had a 5 piece Export kit in Charcoal Metallic. Fusion sizes.

I sold the Yellow Exports that I had owned since 90/91 something like that.

And got a great deal on a Export Burgundy Mist 5 piece, standard sizes.

2 up 2 down - 22 x 18 kick. I traded the two Export kits ( Charcoal & Burgundy ) in on the MCX. The MCX included an ICON rack.

I bought some matching snares for the MCX

Them recently I bought a brand new but damaged SPL bop kit and repaired it. $120 for it right off the showroom floor. Repaired it in a few short working hours and boom.

So I decided I didn't like the green so I went with a camo green. I thought it would be a little more olive but it's a tad grey. I stripped the hardware and painted it.

To much of the wood grain was showing so I missed the shell , sanded and repainted.

Washed and cleaned all the hardware. Put it all back together to the last lug screw and one was missing. I've never EVER lost a part on a rebuild or cleaning. Got a loaner screw from an export lug!

Oh, and since the shell was stripped I added a pecan stain to the interior.

    It's not perfect but better!
