I'm pretty used to my backing and click coming from my iPod > split to a mixer > left channel click/right channel mono backing to desk > Headphones

I have a new set up:

Laptop running cubase

VST inside Cubase (DMXIS to control lights via midi)

audio out of the Laptop onto mixer (Click hard left, Backing hard right)

Mixer into headphones and right going to desk.

This works okay, but I would like an in ear monitor mix.

The only way I could conceive to do this would be a return from the desk to a second mixer that I use as my Headphones mixer, so it would run

Laptop > split to Mixer > Left to second mixer/right to desk > desk return to second mixer > mixer to phones.

can anyone think of another work around?
