Yes it does! I have taken great care of it! Recently, I even started using the steel Ref as my main snare - It was finally time to put it in the game.

Thanks! This was the first time that my camera actually picked up the *"purple" in the finish - In the past, it always appeared "blue".
*Except for the 13x9 tom which is more blue in real life.

You will have to post the details!
I hope I paved the way for you! I didn't think you could improve upon your kit but I am prepared to be proved otherwise

You certainly encouraged things along, it's your fault! Ever seen a PC gong drum?

    Just kidding, seriously.

    I think we must have encouraged each other . . . (and I will soon . . .)

I just checked the tracking information - the eagle lands [or bear arrives (in this analogy)] tomorrow! After a thorough inspection, hopefully I will get a few pics to post on the forum prior to it going back into hibernation for 148 days.

    It is here!

    Out of the box:

More pics for the forum (so it actually happened):

    Definitely a #193!

And repacked up for another 148 days . . .

    Let the waiting begin . . .

Congrats Andy! Sorry for my ignorance, but why is it getting packed up for so long?

I was wondering the same thing.... But that's awesome that it's exactly what you were expecting... I love that kit, the purple looks so good in person.

    Thanks Chris!
My wife wanted me to have something to look forward to for Christmas (now only 147 days away) so I packed it up until then.

Now let me fill in the gaps:
    • Prior to February 2012 (when #193 was still available), I considered ordering a gong bass drum, but I could never justify the expense.
    • After #193 was discontinued (a very sad day for a few of us here), I began looking for a used one.
    • When this gong bass drum showed up online at a reasonable price, my wife gave me the green light to purchase it.
    • After it arrived, she gave me opportunity to look over it to see its condition and if it matches my other drums. However, she asked that I then pack it back up until Christmas. How could I say no?

Although I still have not played it, the one thing that surprised me is the weight of the drum - It is extremely light for its size.
