They are all the same size, 10"x6.2". I just tune them differently. They are very versatile snares that sound good as a timbale, tom, or a side snare. I while back I changed the snare throw-off to an SR-900 (which, years ago, I think you suggested to another member on the forum).

Which throw-off did it come with? SR-017?

Yes, that would be the one. It would get hung up when it was being engaged and disengaged so I replaced it with the smoother SR-900 strainer.

Yes, the SR-900 was a nice throw off. Pearl put it on some entry-level drums, where the throw off was worth almost as much as the drum it was installed on. I had a few of them in black, but those snares are all gone.

Hi Mike! Sorry for the delay - it is good to hear from you. I hope you are doing well! I will be playing with Ken tomorrow (last one of 2017). It has been fun playing out again. I'll try to get some more pics.

So I was looking online and this is the third time I have seen an 18" Purple Craze Reference virgin bass drum. It reminded me how much I love having a tom bracket on mine. That mount is so convenient. Also there is just something aesthetically pleasing about having a "jazz" sized kit with a tom arm attached to the bass drum. I couldn't be happier - Thanks Pearl for making a great drum!
