I appreciate the honesty and not some marketing spin about it being something totally different!
I own or have owned drums and cymbals made by every major manufacturer. My go-to kit is a DW Collectors series set.

Sounds about right. Thought about it when it disappeared from the website and was renamed Roadshow on the PDF. Tayes been through this, before. They changed their Metalworks pedals innitially after Mapex complained about the footboard and beater designs (three-sided). So yeah, sounds about right.

That RS25WF in jet black looks excellent... I bet it sounds great for the money! Is that a virgin kick on that configuration?

It's a lot better than what I started with. Where are all of the young drummers that should be showing their cool first kits? I started with a Kent like this; from Montgomery Wards; only Red Sparkle (after a Ludwig snare drum) and added a matching Slingerland FT and a Camber 2 Cymbal and a hi hat. Note the luxurious hardware! Played it night and day and got told to stop often and they finally sold it and sent me to military school.

The Road Show, Forum, and Exports would sure be a better way to start. But the kits from Wards were heaven for me when I got them and started learning Charlie Watts beats. Did you also begin on just snare drum Al?

I began on a three piece E.W. Kent kit in red sparkle manufactured in Kenmore, NY. 14x5 snare, 20" kick and 12" tom (no floor tom) a set of early 70's zildjian 14" old avedis hi-hats and a 20" ride with rivets in it.
