Thanks for the compliments Eric and JavHav. They are all really special.

Someone near me is selling a black label 18” 2002 medium crash (not sure if it is a original or re issue) for the equivalent of only US$ 95.00. I’m surprised no one has jumped on it after a month. Again I already have three 18” crashes (A Custom projection, A thin, Silken Trois), just spent on the above trio, and am courting a sublime Silken Tois 20” ride as a dark trashy counterpoint to my 70s A medium ride 22”. But the pedigree is irresistable. So I’m in a quandary.

2002 18, black, black reissue or just red. Simply irresistible!

    Thanks man!

One question to all Paiste specialists here - is it common to find recent Paiste Cymbals without any serial numbers stamped or laser-etched on them? I have recently purchased 2 RUDE Thin crashes (brand new) and they have absolutely no serial numbers on them anywhere.

Really. I think they started the laser etching in 2011. Everything before that should be stamped. Pictures please. The only non serial number Paiste cymbals I have heard of are older. Pre 60’s ?

    NEWS FLASH!!!

In a few days, I'll take ownership of a brand-new, custom-ordered, Paiste RUDE 20" Mega Bell Ride in Colorsound black with red lettering! Drum Center of Portsmouth facilitated the order for me...they have a good relationship with Paiste. I'll post pics and a sound clip when it arrives!

I was mistaken. Upon closer inspection I found the stamped serial numbers. They are almost impossible to detect. On the 17" model the stamping was done lower than usual, far down the bell. On the 18" the numbers are almost invisible because of the cymbal color and hammer marks. Only after taking pictures and zooming in I could see them better.

Is that an existing custom order (older) from someone else, or were you able to place a new custom order? I thought Paiste stopped taking custom orders long ago. I've seen a red logo RUDE on black for sale for a while on eBay by those guys.

Yes, It's a recent order; I ordered it November 2018. DCP places buys with Paiste for custom, one-offs throughout the year. If you time it right, You can get your custom request approved and added to their bulk order.

I already own a 20" RUDE Power Ride (that I'll most likely be selling soon) that's black with dark orange writing. That's probably what you saw on Ebay.

Nice! I'm glad they're taking some custom orders again. Waaaaaaaaay before Roman started going crazy with custom orders here, I've ordered a few custom colorsound RUDEs back in the day (thin crash and novo china) and I was lucky enough to had them made 15" SE RUDEs and a 22" Heavy bell ride that I have to this day and use all the time on my covers. I've had a bunch of signature reflectors custom made as well, way before they became part of the line as heavy fulls. My customs were made back in 2003/2004. Congratz and lucky you, that one cymbal you've ordered will be one loud and pretty dry monster!

Thanks! I'm really looking forward to it! Roman's 20" Rude Mega Bell ride was the inspiration for my order! It should be a real beast!
