Of all the things to customize on a drum, that’s the LAST thing I’d have thought of. The brown and baby blue works aesthetically tho. Bright red just screams “look at me!” or “look out- badass comin’ through!” LOL

To each his or her own. Whatever blows your hair back.
Hahahaha! That’s a bit harsh, but fair. I do like my drums to be pretty, and I certainly want them to stand out. I’d like to think the snare drum would say “look at me!”, but not so much myself. I don’t play live anymore and I’ve realized that I enjoy the unique look of each drum equally as much as I enjoy playing it.

In the wide world of China cymbals, those two lines are about the only two that sound right to me. What is it you don't like about the AAX-treme?

It’s actually not “extreme” to my ear. My K has a much more pleasing note but it’s old and I’d like to preserve it. The Holey China, from what I’ve heard, is as close to the K as any other cymbal has gotten.

As I have the brass and copper versions, I just had to pick up the latest, aluminum drum. Tama Star Reserve. 3mm shell makes this heavier than my other aluminum drums. Will try to get pics with all three.

Still waiting on one of the chinas, probably about a month i’m told

Also waiting on the 13” hats and 10” splash.. won’t see them until nov or dec.

Everything else is here tho, and at least everything paid for so it’s just waiting for the last few.

Hey no fair... I've been waiting for mine for quite sometime LOL. Yours is awesome! I can't wait to get mine, and make all of my subtle changes.

Matt, you’re gonna love this one. Best of the bunch. Dry, but without losing any of the shell vibrancy. It’s superb. I wouldn’t change a thing but I do look forward to seeing your modifications.
