I wish I played guitar good enough to be worthy of owning one pedal.

    Awesome collection!

As someone who knows very little about mics and even less about guitar amps/heads, I'm curious about the painters tape on the amps. Are those the "sweet spots" or is something actually cone red to the screen?

After having this mic combo in my 18" bass drum, I thought I would add this to my 22":

Those tape boxes identify where the cone is on the speakers. It's tough to see clearly, but centered on each cone is a pair of SM57s. They are in the "Fredman" configuration, which means 1 mic pointed directly at the center of the cone & the other at a 55 degree angle to that. AS long as you set it up correctly, you get perfect phase alignment between the 2 mics. You blend those 2 mics and magically the good things about what each mic captures is emphasized & the bad things minimized. It just produces a unique recorded tone that you won't get any other way. I have the cones marked because it's really hard to see them through the cabinet grills so those boxes make sure I know exactly where to place the mics each time they get moved around.

Here is a video that covers how the Fredman technique works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3C9ir7GK9hQ

Default This beautiful snare drum shell, but...

I just got this awesome snare drum shell, made of solid bird's eye maple, with matching re-rings...

... but someone scribbled all over the inside of the shell. Can someone make a suggestion how to scrub off all of that babble?

Id spray the inside black, slap some Pearl hardware and badge on it and you can violate two trademarks at the same time.
