I'm eager to try all the cymbals out but my kids will be home for the weekend so my wife told me " you can buy them but no playing, cleaning or working on drums until Monday! ". Haha.

Did you see the whole score?

You basically bought the snare and got the rest free.

Nice score Rocker. Just to be clear, you just took pics with everything on the lawn? You didn’t shampoo all that gear right?

Yes. The guy bought them from his nephew a few years back. His wife wanted to work more from home and she needed a work space. So good bye drum room and he said he was going to use the drum money to buy tile for the new room.

He said he'd never played in a band and wasn't very good. Could keep a beat but as far as playing a song, it wasn't happening.

When I first messaged him he asked " do you buy and sell drums?" I assured him I only buy!

But he was meaning " are you a flipper? Cause I seen a lot of pictures of drums on your Facebook page!"

I said " some of those are drums I've owned and some are just ones I like. " that was mostly the truth!

I didn't even want to say " I'm a collector" because I didn't want to sour the sale.

He knew exactly what the snare value was. He told me his nephew told him " ask $900 " for the lot.

He originally listed it for $685. After a week dropped it to $525. I offered $500 cash and he took it.

I honestly only clicked the pick because I was curious as to why someone would ask $500+ for an obviously hand painted 3 piece.

I was really expecting to see a bunch of zht and B8 cymbals and $40 snare to go along with the paint.

When I gps'd his address I told him it was an hour and 19 minute drive. He replied " My God...where do you live?!"

No shampoo here! But the PDF member that posted his technique did have some great looking hardware. But I'm still on the fence about that.

I’m about to drop $300 on a Donati snare. Worth it? What say the PDF?

My thoughts exactly. It’s a great snare though.
