Not lack of respect, I just don’t want to carry them around.

Latest to come home is a 4pc MRX kit and a 20" Paiste 2002 Ride, pics in Masters section. Couldn't be happier.

    Same here.

As soon as the Reference Pure drums came out with the thinner shells and lighter hardware, that was the end of heavier drums for me.

i'd so like to find a set of reference '''regular cut''' ,.the fact i'd be willing to deal with their weight has everything to see with the ''marvelous'' to me sound they provides. really unique drums,i hope i'll be able to own a full set one day ,even if they're as heavy as a ton of bricks .

Not really a purchase, just a belated holiday gift from the kids.
Haven't had a chance to read it yet, but aside from including Lars and Travis (as well as some really small print for my aged eyes) it is quite the intriguing tome.

If it stinks, then I guess I could just use it as a practice pad, but I think it will be a good read.

Someone gave me that book. I would not say it’s a “read” per se, more like a coffee table book.

I've got a Zildjian 17" paper thin crash from the 80s or 90s, it crashes beautifully...perfect for rolling with vibraphone sticks :-)

Yep, this one too, I was given an old 15" paper thin that had cracked and been cut down to 13.5", even that is a beautifully 'gongy' crash. Perfect for some uses, especially mallet work.
