They turn on my rocket booster for my kit so I can fly around the venue.

    They are not buttons.

That's interesting. I haven't seen anything like that before.

I have some from when they were called 1964 Ears & they don't have those, or anything extra sticking out of them. I guess that is progress for you.

I just bought a clamp and mount for my rhythm watch. Mounted it to my hi hat so it doesn't take up a tom when I'm practicing. Exciting stuff, I know.

Just sold my Mapex Saturn IV kit, got a decent set of money so I ordered a couple of items:

    - 13x5,5" Mapex Black Panther "Cherry Bomb" snare (the new model), got it mainly for the purpose of touring with it in December, trying to save some weight compared to my heavy 14x6" Tama Starphonic Bronze. Just hope it will have enough crack and "bite" to it for my needs (metal music). I choose this instead of a 13x5" PDP Black Wax Maple snare, after upgrading the PDP with better heads and snare wires it wouldn't be that much cheaper than the Mapex anyway, and the Mapex comes with good heads and Puresound wires...

    - Pearl Eliminator Redline single pedal, belt drive. Have a double pedal of these at the moment, but now I can both use them as two singles or a double pedal. Will sell my Speed Cobras after this switch is done, I prefer the feel of the Redlines.

I should have purchased stock in Yamaha. Instead I bought drums.

    Stage Customs
    Beech Customs Absolute
    Recording Customs

And a bunch of heads and new hardware.

I don't know if I should post this, what with all that's been discussed lately on the forum,
but I just got a Sabian 20" AA Chinese cymbal (made in Canada).

Chinas usually aren't my thing, but this one came up while I was looking for crash cymbals, and it was priced cheap, so why not.
The sound is more "pangy" than trashy, and it rides nice.

So, after nearly 10 years of searching, I finally tracked down a matching 16x14 Mapex Saturn floor tom in my long discontinued finish - electric blue sparkle. A 7 piece kit went up for sale on Craigslist in KC and the seller was willing to part out and ship this single floor tom with minimal haggling.

also new Coated G1 heads all the way around.
