Lol, that shows the fundamental difference between me and you when it comes to cymbals. The Breakbeat is the ONLY 18” ride I own and haven’t played another in that size that I’ve enjoyed. I’m all about the 22” and up when it comes to rides!

What are those hoops called? They’re different than the ones used on the 14” version you had posted earlier...
You are absolutely right, these are a new model which Oriollo showed on their IG recently and which actually prompted me to finally make that order.

I really like the idea of recessed tension bolt holes and slots for the snare ribbon.

However, these are like 3mm taller than my current Tama's die casts, so I'm a bit worried if it will be harder to play, but we'll see.

Just bought a brand new Bopshorus 17" paper thin antique crash from Amazon for $130. Smallest crash I've owned in a long while but for the investment I'm willing to risk it being a dud. There's a 13" version of this cymbal for like 67 bucks on Amazon as well. Crazy low prices on the oddest things sometimes.

Got this guy for a $140 too (18"). Amazon has some deals if you're willing to roll the dice.

Total impulse buy. And you know what? The taper actually works. These sticks are MUCH thicker than I’m used to (that’s what she said) but they play like a thinner stick.

That's a really interesting patina. It would be nice to have a whole set of cymbals like that; I'd never feel the need to clean them.

Bosphorus prices are all over the place on Amazon, but I found a bunch of Turk series I like.

I even found a 24" Ride for Josh... but I think he is exclusively using Zildjian.

Be honest Matt, you’d still clean them.

At what point does the patina just become rust?
