Here's my ultimate newest purchase and I'm so happy I did. Best snare drum period hands down.

    Pearl Reference Series Brass 14x6.5
I got it brand new "Open Box Display" Few stick marks an 1 microscopic scratch next to the vent.. The music store was selling it for full retail and I talked down to $850.00 then state tax was $68 so I got a 1247.00 snare drum for $918 can't go wrong there saving 397.00

Though my main search is for a Tico Torres FF, my eyes are definitely being drawn to Reference snares, especially the metal ones.

I’m assuming that was a joke right? That I clean my instrument more than I play them cause I actually use my gear an it’s gonna get beat up with use no matter how careful I am

    Lol.

I think he was saying that polished finish will show fingerprints very quickly.

It definitely has a different, bell-like tone that you don't find in other metal shells. The snare beds are really deep as well, so it takes a little know-how to properly install a snare side head... but I got it on the first try

They are expensive, but I bought mine used, and got an excellent deal.
