    I love Tama's new(er) X-hat... it's a big improvement over their older version.

New hardware day is fun! Are you giving those items the "locked down" treatment like on your rack?

Yeah, I have the oldest one from the 80's and it works fine, but the tube protrudes way too much at the bottom which makes the hihat harder to position over floor toms. The new one is much more compact, hopefully it will work fine.

Haha, no - these are meant to be used when playing out on house kits and everything has to be adjustable, so I'm keeping them stock.

That is indeed a luverly looking snare, cracking! Have you got the rest of the matching kit to go with it...if so, photos?

Been trying a few sticks recently, tried the Gavin Harrison sticks with the sticky shafts (ooh-err) but they're a bit big and the sticky stuff doesn't last. Then heard about the Pro Mark "rebound" sticks and got a pair of those in the firegrain size 5B. Now moved to the same stick but with the active grip and liking these a lot.

Picked up a Gretsch Maple Catalina kit as payment for working with a buddy. He still had it in the box and he saw how I restored the Mapex kit (which sold for $450, however they got a good deal. I threw in some extra goodies I didnt need like a 13in piccolo snare by Groove Percussion, a Kickport, hi-hat stand, etc..) He knew I loved this brand and said he couldn't set it up at his apartment. Its beauitful. (Keep in mind these pics were taken before the Mapex kit was sold)

Picked up 2 9000 series booms and a design series chrome over brass snare. Drum guy I deal with did his best to try and sell me a ‘John Good’ exotic redwood snare. I was able to resist the temptation.
