I do believe these Sonor lugs are spray painted in somebody’s basement.

I'm going to go out on a limb here, but I'm guessing by the mailing date on the box (7/25/2017) that Mike had ordered a pipe clamp for his Pearl ICON rack back then. Somehow, he found away around not needing that particular clamp, so he put it away unopened, and just recently unearthed it.

God, I love Drums on Sale. Great site to find miscellaneous things.

Also speaking of rack clamps, has anyone noticed the prices on them lately? Nearly $40 for a PCL100 from most retailers, not to sound like an old codger but when I bought my rack a decade and change ago, they were $19.99 a piece. Holy inflation, Batman!

Hey guys, yes I know Matt is also a big fan and customer of DOS and all that Chris and his team do. As for prices, I'd hate to think what it would cost ME to buy then get something sent here in the current climate

Couldn't have said it better myself Purchased 4 years ago and the package box itself is dated 2015!

Here is what I bought it for, just haven't got to installing it. One side of the gong drum stand, pipe clamp with a short section of tube and done. My OCD is obviously not of the highest standard

You're right about the paint, can't say for certain, where, they were sprayed though haha. The original owner is responsible. The drum still sounds amazing and I plan to get it looking new when I'm done with it.

I don't understand the hardware on this cottonwood. The lugs were shiny gold plated? The diecast hoops are not matching, and not Sonor brand. I THINK the batter hoop is an old Noble and Cooley diecast. If it is, and it's in good condition, I'd like to buy it from you, especially if it would be discarded after the restoration. Please let me know.

The next question is... can the old strainer be replaced with a dual-glide?
Yeah, the first owner painted the lugs and hoops a matte bronze, which actually looks pretty cool, albeit, unprofessional. There was a misunderstanding with the hoops and he sent these, thinking I wanted chrome, INSTEAD of, the painted hoops, when in my mind, I would be getting both sets. He's sending a new strainer and butt and I'm gonna ask him to send the hoops also. I have no idea how one would tell whether or not, these are N&C hoops but I'd be glad to take the pictures that could confirm, or deny, your notion.

Some close-up pictures at the tension rod "tabs" would help me confirm or deny.

I'm almost certain the batter is a N&C and the snare side is not.

Was at Dale's yesterday and forgot how great this drum sounds. I like the newer version better with the built in mufflers but I got a fantastic price on this 2018 model.
