I typically don’t buy used cymbals because I hit hard and prefer to have the warranty in case something breaks, but I picked up a pair of 15” A Custom Mastersounds and an 18” Oriental China off of Craigslist for $300 last night. Seemed like a no-brainer to me. I’m gonna sell my old Z Custom hats for $250 and cover most of my cost!

Interesting... it looks like it lowered the spring? What else does that do for the feel or functionality of the pedal?

What size are your Z Customs? I can't imagine paying $250 for used 14" Z Custom hats... even the 15's I'd probably only pay $200 if they were mint.

They’re 14” Medium Hats! Surprisingly musical for what they are, but these Mastersounds blow them away. Even if I don’t get my asking price, I won’t be upset. $300 for the hats and the China was too good a deal to pass up on anyways! May keep them to use as X-hats, actually.

Oh, $300 dollars is a steal of a deal for sure! And I think 15" is the sweet spot for hi hats. As much as I love my 16's (and I have a ton) my go to set is always a 15" Sweet top over a 15" K Custom Special Dry bottom.

It makes the pedal more responsive.
I'm still trying to get used to the feeling, because to me it feels like I cranked up the springtension, wich I did not do.

The longboards are smooth and feel great!

Nice! I usually prefer Meinl or Paiste, but those are my absolute favorite hi hats ever! Congrats on the great deal!

Only real men use 18" and 17" rides! I use 18s on everything I do now. At last count I have 6 of them

Here are the two cymbals I got last week: AAX 17" and 18" Studio Crashes. Also, here is the hardware I got today. Peace and goodwill.
