The cotton wood shell looks really nice, but I wish Sonor didn't use all the extra bulky hardware that detracts from it.

I'm sure it is a great sounding and well built drum. I just cannot get past the fact that the wood pattern reminds me of my days imaging histological sections in research labs. Kinda' reminds me of mouse spleen stained with DAB to test for Hodgkins Lymphoma.

In any case, it's your drum, not mine, so enjoy it.

I got stupidly lucky with that ride - it actually *does* sound fantastic - and I have a buddy who desperately wants it but isn't getting it until I find a suitable Z replacement....that's why I scrubbed the logo off (both sides) so I didn't have to look at it no mo....just hear it.

Currently using a broken 22" Soultone Explosion Crash a friend gave me and I can tell how good it sounded before getting broken. He's got an issue with their lack of warranty which is why he's not crazy about the company though.

It's a beautiful instrument. I'm working on two other snares at the moment, both Zebrawood stave shells... the quality is amazing.

This is why I had a falling out with them - the 18" Extreme Crash I had broke during a show.....up to that point I hadn't broken a cymbal in better than 20 years....got into a big argument with them because they wouldn't do a thing except want to charge me for a new one. So I started dumping them. I have none left on my kit except that ride and the logo has been scrubbed....when I find a Zildjian to match the sound I'll replace it.....but with no logo, not really rushing into it....like I said, the sound is outstanding....hard to give that up....
