And I think the friction must come from the edge of the China rubbing on the crash rather than the flat bit... I'll set up tomorrow and put some pictures up
I think for china/crash or china/splash stacks, the bells should be placed together, not opposing. That's at least how the manufacturers planned them to work together. I like the crash/splash on top because you can get the lighter tapping sound easier, than when the china is on top (the lip gets in the way).

It's yours if you want it. PM me your address and I'll send it down. It's been in my drawer for a few years and I don't use it. I also have a pearl drop clutch just sitting there if you want that too.

So fortunate to have been able to acquire this snare from another drummer in The Netherlnads. I'm also having Sam from HHG build a pair of segmented ovangkol hoops for this drum. This is the lightest snare I've ever owned and sounds so good

I can see why. Jeff built you a beautiful drum. His badge in particular is really good.

Just picked up one of my “holy grail” snares. It’s nothing like any of these Masterworks or boutique snares, but I’ve wanted one for a long time and finally found one in great condition. It will be outfitted with Pearl’s tube lugs, stainless steel tension rods, MasterCast hoops, and SR-150 strainer!

I also picked up another Gruv X-Click that has a chrome outer ply for my 12” SensiTone Steel project.
