Looks awesome! I’m excited to share what I’m getting. How do you like the Star snare stand? I love my DW 9000 but the Star is definitely interesting. From just looking at pictures online, the basket arms seem like they might bend over time.

Matt, what's your opinion on the cast bronze hoops?

Iím looking forward to playing this on Wednesday night rehearsal. It sounds awesome with a Genera dry batter.

Thanks! I love the Tama Star snare stand... I have 2. Those bars are solid, so I think they would bend only under extreme abuse.

I've wanted cast bronze hoops for quite a while, but they will tarnish. I'm also pretty sure the would dent under normal, consistent playing. The only reason I didn't get a full Bellmaker from Vukan was the bare bronze finish that quickly tarnishes, and he didn't offer clear coating at the time. I would love a pair of Tama bell brass hoops. I like the way they look when they age, but they are difficult to find in mind condition.

Beautiful kit, Chris! Been a few years since I've played coated heads, maybe one day I'll give 'em another go but I've been rather happy with clear heads the last decade and change.

    Thanks!

Apart from coated snares, this the first time I've really gone coated. The durability of these are meant to be really good. The snare has about 10 hours of use and still looks brand new
