Not that I needed another pedal but for $210 shipped for a Tama Speed Cobra 910 Double was a pretty killer deal, so I went for it. Was a smart move, because I'm liking it better than my Axis so far. Seems to have a lot more power while still feeling really light, where the Axis is a bit more of a compromise between the two. I did swap out the drive shaft with my Trick one - the slave had about an inch of play from the junk universals.

Nice acquisition! I like this version because you can convert the left slave pedal to a single pedal (http://www.dwdrums.com/factoryaccess...TNAME=dwsp2200)

Wow! Thanks man. I didn't realize that when I bought them.

Curious though, why do some 9000 doubles have this option and others do not?

I’m getting into the whole “home recording” thing after our album didn’t sound as good as we’d have liked (also done in a basement.) I’m staring with the focusrite scarlett line, relatively budget shure mics and thankfully good sounding drums off the rip. Reaper is my DAW and this is really a lot of fun.

GordtheDrummer and Mike Forman turned me onto Reaper... it's really great, once you travel the learning curve.

Im really starting to figure it out now. It has some fantastic and simple built in plug ins that im really loving. The gate in particular is wonderful. I just have to be careful with how much compression i use from the OctoPre dynamic because im finding that too much can really make it hard to gate things and EQ properly.

How did you do that with the dw? I recently did some work for a guy and was given a Pearl Redline... Hardly used... 4 cams, tons of settings and it came set up like your DW pedal. I love that option in case I need two single pedals.

I have come to learn that the version of the 9000s (what I have) that has the slave-to-single option is the old model. The newer 9000 got rid of this as an option. Lots of folks were apparently not happy with that decision by DW.
