I'd love to make a sterling silver snare drum. Wish somebody could just make me the shell.

With solid 925 sterling silver, I don't know who would make that shell for less than Van Kleef's price. The majority of that price is in the materials. You'd have to find a foundry who you could trust to make the cast, and really use all silver.

I doubt if any foundry would do it unless the silver was supplied.

How could they guarantee that it doesn't get contaminated with other metals they were working with? I guess that's always an issue when you're melting metal.

How could we trust VK to avoid any contamination either?

Maybe I should get all of my sterling silver coins together and see what they weigh ...

I giged last nite with my new Redline single and itís noticeably smoother than itís predecessor. I have owned elimís for many years but this one is even better. I also like the new design spring assembly with locking lever & the beaters . The Ninja bearings really make a difference IMO I would advise anyone that is in the market for a new pedal to check out the Redlineís they are great!

Cool little gadget I picked up. Was looking for a basic practice system and try some recording. Blown away by this little device. It sounds amazing. Not sure how a live setting would be but at home, it's exactly what I wanted.
