I've received snare drums from sellers with Calftone heads on them, supposedly "new", and noticed the top "skin" was separating from the rest of the head. Is this one of the issues you were referring to?

Yeah i've heard of it with both calftones and the equivalent Remo fiberskyns. Whether I notice it happening remains to be seen. But I got the head for free through the Players Circle that D'addario do so I don't mind too much if that proves to be the case. In which case i'll get a UV1 for it as I use on most snares.

Those look great! Did they also do the hole cutting? How do they sound?

I am putting the set together with a brand new Ludwig Series 400 Hardware kit and all Zildjian cymbals (3) plus Zildjian 14" high-hats...all also in mint like -new shiny condition. I'd like some feedback as to what you feel may be a fair sell price for such a kit. Thank you kindly for any guidance. Sincerely, Tom R
Welcome to the forum! I don't think $500 is too much if it's in great shape and it's what you're looking for.
Looking forward to seeing the whole kit set up.

I've played an 18" kick that sounded awesome. I like the placement options the smaller size offers as well.

They sound great... trashy like I wanted. Yes, I mapped out the locations and sizes for the holes, and DOS polished and cut the holes.

Very nice mate, Ash Soon was talking about them on a video the other day and he's a huge fan.

Picked up a bunch of stainless steel tension rods, some new heads, and an aluminum Optimount for my new Session Studio Select kit. Loving the look and sound of this new kit!

The clear Emps really show of the Mahogany inner plies.

    Thanks dude!

I was hoping you'd post a more recent pic of your kit... your "my babies" thread's most recent pic is from 2017(!).

LOL I'm waiting on the 13" tom to come in (estimated delivery is tomorrow), and I'm having a big ole photoshoot! My younger brother is a professional photographer, and he's gonna use his professional lights and camera gear to really show her off. I've got a couple more recent pics that I'll PM you. Didn't want to post them, because the kit has been changed since then.
