I'm going to put some new batter heads on my kicks. I would like to try Aquarian Super-Kick I, but I might not be able to get them locally. I might end up with EMADs again... which are fine. It will depend on what's availablle at Guitar Center and Sam Ash, because I don't want to wait for shipping.
Congratulations Matt ! I’m sure they are beautiful!

Is this a brand new kit, or just using the old boxes to transport your current one?

FWIW, the Masters I purchased recently had an SKII on it and to my ears, it blows the EMAD out of the water. I've been using the EMAD for over a decade now, but I can't imagine going back after playing the SKII.

It's my old drums, boxes, rack, cymbals... but it all feels new to me. I will see what heads they have in stock at the big-box stores.

Thanks PaulÖ same old drums, but I love them.

Today I ended up with EMAD 1-ply batters with my trusty AF Parches. Next head change Iím definitely going to try SK I clearÖ but for now, sticking with Evans

Iím making progressÖ kicks sound great. Now that I have wall-to-wall carpet instead of wood flooring, I need much less dampening on the bass drums. Iím using the thin EMAD ring and no dampening on the resonant head (other than the additional fiber-coating which definitely adds warmth).

Those may be the most beautiful drums I’ve ever seen. They’re like handmade furniture.

They're the kind of finish that I don't like at first, but I know are going to be classy as hell in twenty years time. They aren't the flashiest, but they are some of the classiest.

I hope to get my BRX's setup one day. I think I've only played them once since I bought them.
