The SJC's probably have better shells. If you really hate the color you could rewrap it. Personally, the white hardware and offset lugs are a turn off for me.

It's only a great deal if it's the kit you really want, which I don't think it is. I'd keep your Visions and be patient. Kits go up for sale every day and there's no shortage of nice stuff out there. Getting what you want is what's important. The orange and white is not my cup of tea. Neither are the offset lugs and white hardware. The bass drum is a behemoth. Do you really want to get involved with cutting it down? I don't like that the tension rods have rust on them. Resale shouldn't be a big issue as yougetting them at a good price.

As for you getting $750 for yours. I hope you do.

I'm not trying to get $750 for my Pearls, I said that about if I do get the SJC and decide I don't like it.

Also, I think SJC is a great company. I've been following them since the early days. They make some great looking kits, this just isn't one of them... But all that matters is the sound. It can be made to look better and still be an SJC kit.

I will concur with many here and say it's simply not worth the price. You'll have to spend money to cut down the kick drum to a respectable size. Not to mention the money needed to re-wrap the kit if you want to go that route. It will cost as much for that material, more even, than you actually paid for the whole kit.

There's nothing wrong with the Pearl kit. Keep playing that and save your money for a new MCX or BCX.

I say there's no time like the present man. Regardless of what me or anyone else may say it is ultimately up to you as you'll be the one playing it. If it's a good deal, and you're good with how it sounds, why not?
Working on a new project. Hopefully we'll have new music up soon.

Diarrhea is free, but that doesn't make it a 'good deal'.
