Default Pearl 5.5" x 14" reference brass concert snare drum

I just ordered one of these:

    From the Lone Star Website:

    Overview:
    • 3mm Reference Brass Shell
    • Tube Lugs
    • SO-17 Lever Strainer
    • SuperHoop II Rims
    • Angle Mounted Cable Snares

    Item Details:
This Very Limited Edition Pearl Concert Snare Drum is available only at Lone Star Percussion. Made from the 3mm Reference Series Brass, this drum blends extreme sensitivity at lower dynamics while delivering amazing power at louder dynamics. It also has several components found in Pearl's Concert Series Drums. There are only two of these in the world and they're only available here at Lone Star Percussion. Grab one before they are gone!

    Specifications:
Name Pearl 5.5" x 14" Reference Brass Concert Snare Drum
    Brand Pearl
    Model # CRB1465
    Diameter 14"
    Series Concert Reference
    Material Steel
    Item Depth 5.5"

It seemed interesting and it didn't come with $900+ price tag. Does anyone here know what a SO-17 Lever Strainer is?

Would be interesting to see what the OP gets,I think the whole add might be a typo.

I think that both of you are probably correct. I will find out on Monday.

They are mixing apples and oranges (also called "false advertising"). This is very likely NOT a 3mm Reference shell, but a 1.5mm Concert shell -older model w/ SR-17 strainer. Nice looking and probably sounding drum anyway.

It's a SR-017 strainer. I think you will want to replace the snare wires when the drum arrives. It comes with wires more geared for playing in an orchestra. You can put any wires on it that you choose. As far as the shell goes, it can be measured with calipers once you get it (if you care to be sure). Keep us updated!

I just noticed that, for this particular snare, they put the strainer in a different position compared to normal. You can tell because the engraved Superhoop logos are off a "panel", instead of surrounding the badge. I had snare like that before, but it had Mastercast hoops, so I was able to replace the stickers to be in the "correct position".
