As always, top notch snares! You have an amazing collection for sure. My favorites are the new masterworks 20 ply and the copper free floater. Wish I could have snagged a copper FF before they discontinued them.

Thanks ld! You may be able to order (4-6 month wait) a copper FF still. If you want to find out for sure, PM Al Percival... he is on vacation this week, but still may reply to you to let you know he'll look into it next week. The best part of ordering a Pearl drum (definitely NOT the wait) is that - if your dealer is cool - you can put down 30% or a third, then start the wait process. So it will give you 4-6 months to come up with the paper

That is great that a good dealer will let you put a down payment on it. I think I will PM Al and see if there is any possibility to get one, and then see if I can find a good dealer who will do that for me...my nearest dealer is a Guitar Center so that one is iffy. Thanks for the info!

Drums on Sale....I have seen their site before, several other members here have said many good things about them as well. They would do special orders via phone/internet then? Most dealers I have been unfortunate enough to have to deal with won't special order unless you come in the store. If they do then I'd give them a nod as the best dealer too!

I live in Joisey, and the best dealer in the US is in Maryland... and I've never been there. As long as you have a credit card and tell him I sent you... you should have no trouble placing a special order.

Thanks for the info then. I sent Al a message and he is checking on the details for me. I'll give Drums on Sale a shout when he gets me the info I need.

Thumbs up Here is the rest of the collection...

The only original part of this drum is the shell. I've completely reassembled this drum from the ground up, with all new components and hardware. I bought this snare for 2 reasons. One, I wanted a birch snare drum (then found out later this drum is only half birch). Secondly, I used to own an EXR kit in gun metal sparkle, and really enjoyed the wrap. Keeping this drum around reminds me of that old kit. Here are the specs:

14x5.5 Pearl Limited Edition Birch-Ply Snare Drum
6-ply Birch/?? Shell (Pearl couldn't even tell me what the backing ply was for sure... poplar or basswood?)
    All Black Hardware
    CL-55 Masters Lugs
    Superhoop II Hoops
    SR-015 Strainer
    Stainless Steel tension rods
Remo Coated Control Sound OR any of a variety of Remo Coated batter heads, Remo Clear Ambassador snare side head
