On a side note, I had no idea that finished interiors were rare, my only DW snare (the R40 ICON) has a pristine inner lacquer on the Romanian River Oak.
Thanks RD24! I'm adjusting my collection, adding some key drums I've always wanted, and letting others go. They're all really nice drums, but after some of my more recent additions, the proverbial bar (of the sort of instrument I want to keep in my collection) has been slowly rising. Quicksticks and I were (half-) joking around when came up with the notion that all snare drums are to be scrutinized and compared the Tama Star Zebrawood, and many fall short .

All of the Tama Star series snare drums set the bar very high.

Absolutely. I have my eyes peeled for a Japanese Sen and a Mahogany with a really nice grain.

It's thick, thicker than I'd normally go for, but mellow at the same time. I'm getting info from DW. They will reply with any information they have about the drum. I think it's at least 1cm (10mm) thick.

Looks great Matt. Maybe time to add a Joyful Noise to your arsenal if you don’t have one.

Thanks Eric. I've talked to Curt extensively about his manufacturing philosophies, and put JN on the back burner for now. In that price range, there are other snares I'd rather pursue. You'll see some of them soon

Hi Matt! Snares are top shelf as always. An inventory list of what you have now would be great to see if you were happy to, even better with a family pic!

I wouldn't call it an inventory list, more like a gallery. The collection has taken on a life of it's own. It's changing all the time. The is the most updated page I have, but some are going out, and some haven't been listed yet.

Here are some family pics from a couple years ago. I might consider a family pic in the spring, when the weather improves.
