I had one also. It was a very very adequate kit. I'd have kept it if add ons were an option several years later.

Totally agree, it was a fine gigging workhorse. Not sure how modern exports compare but this is what exports built their reputation on.

Got them for my son. Kept them around. Added another kick. Cut down the 16" floor to 14" deep suspended. Painted hoops and ISS white. Painted cowbell and added Bocote ridge. I'm gigging with this kit. The EC2's sound great. G1's on the bottom. EMad 2 on the main kick. I recovered in car wrap shrink. Massaged and trued all the bearing edges. Paiste 2oo2, Sig and Sound Formulas. Snare is a 13x11 Granstar converted to 8 lug die cast with Tamo fade bum wrap. Now 13x7.
My favorite Export kit on the forum!

Here's pics of me and my 88-89 Yellow Flash Exports. The pics were bad so I tried to edit them for they'd be a little more visible. This was a gig in the early 90's. I was in my very early 20's

Is it normal to have tension rods in the front and wing nuts in the back? I'm just now noticing that.

    To Facebook group Pearldrums4life.

It started a debate between me and another guy that these are not Burgundy Mist ELX or EXL whichever but Cranberry Mist Export Select.

Here's pics from a few back in this Export thread another pic of my same kit plus one time PDF member Pig in Muck.

He calls the Export Select too.

His appear more brownish red and mine more red or Eh hem Burgundy.

Question is... Is there a difference? What's the official name?

I got Burgundy Mist from the pro's here so I don't really know.

I don't even own this kit anymore but inquiring minds want to know. Thanks for any info.

Going by badge and Pearl catalogs ... it IS a Burgundy Mist Export Select or ELX .. that guy saying Cranberry Mist is thinking of the Session SRX color Cranberry Mist .. although there was a similar color in ELX line called Scarlet Mist .. all he has to do is look at the dang catalogs

Thank you BadAstronaut. Once again you are a BadA. You are the one who told me initially the info on the kit and like others here I fully respect your knowledge and ability to look things up in the catalogs!

Thanks again and I hope you are having a happy 2020.
