    I thought they looked tiny.

I've been wanting a smaller kit to transport more easily. I can't get over how nice these look especially considering their price. Unfortunately my pic doesn't really do the finish justice.
How do you like that catapult pedal?

Well, I am trying to like it, but the design does have some major flaws. The direct drive mechanism takes up so much space at the front of the pedal that you actually have to sit back further from the drum kit than you would normally. Also I'm finding that if I have my foot fully on the pedal that it tends to bury the beater into the bass drum head without meaning to which means I have to put my foot even further back to get a decent tone of out the bass drum.

Also the beater that you see in the picture is a terrible design. It's designed more like a dampener than a beater and it's very hard to get any volume out of it. So just yesterday I replaced it with a Danmar felt beater which is an improvement.

On the positive side the overall action is very nice and responsive, just not sure that makes up for the rest of the problems with it.

Anyway, that was probably more than you wanted to know.
