I think that particular snare drum is ugly. Others seem to like it. We all don't have to agree.
It's a love hate relationship on the internet, I personally love the snare and the design having said that I am not a fan of Tama drum just from their appearance.....

But it's also wise to let your ears be the judge especially in the studio.

    Agree.

All that matters is that the guy who paid a lot for the Tama snare likes the way it looks and sounds.

Being I agree, I’ll answer. I’m not a fan of piccolo drums. The hardware looks squashed together. I’m not a fan of brass hardware and I’ve seen carbon shells that are similar on many other types of drums. Basically, the shell material isn’t anything special.

It's not about the hardware or the shell material.....it's about the rarity.

I get that. My mom didn’t understand why I would spend a lot of money on Johnny Bench’ Rookie Year baseball card when I was a kid. Yes, it was rare, but it was Johnny Bench, the best catcher to ever play the game of baseball.

Though I wouldn’t buy either of them, $2000 for a Tama Bell Brasss or a vintage Ludwig Black Beauty I get. This drum, not so much. It is like the old tobacco card of some nobody player I bought for cheap simply because it was rare. I would not have spent as much if not more than Bench’s just because it is.
