You'll only be breaking the screws loose and do the rest by hand. I hand tighten them and go back and snug them with a screw driver. If you go to do a whole kit...just do one drum at a time. I've always done it they way. Until the last time I went to clean my 9 piece Export kit. 4 toms broke down at once. That was a mistake! I've only cleaned the 10" & 12" toms on my MCX kit and I've owned it almost a year now. Those and both snares, but the ft's and kick need it bad. I've had so much fun playing them I just haven't broke them down yet. That will be a winter project. When you do clean them, take pics and share. Again if you don't take the lugs off you might as well not take the heads off and just wipe them down. And all of that is really a waste of time. Cheers!
Non-drummers really don't understand the time and effort involved.

I've put it off for so long that now I will probably only do it when they need to get moved, which is within 3 years, either to store or to a new place if I buy one in that time (long story).

I do look forward to it but it's a massive job. Would definitely share no problems at all.

    Yeah. Definitely.
I want to actually clean my cymbals in the interim.
Heard on this forum that mineral oil is the way to go.
It's really expensive WTF. Everything drum related is expensive even if it's not drum related!!!

I was setting up the Tama to play, and the other two were just re-dressed in chrome hardware, instead of black.
