Do note that the SR-160F will fit but it is very possible that you will have to modify the chassis where it fits. You must modify slightly for a 2nd gen, and is possible that on some 3rd gens you will have to as well to get the SR-160F to fit. See this thread for details, it's how I modified my 2nd gen for it to fit. Didn't take long at all though!

I bought SR 010 strainer, but it did not fit my 1st gen : ( holes did not match at all.

You have a first gen FF? I missed that part. From your post, you asked what would fit a 3rd Gen FF. Maybe I misunderstood your post:

The first gen are definitely unique in that none of the hardware is interchangeable. I apologize if I misunderstood your post.

Pearl did make a steel shell in the 5" depth, but only very early on. Best I can tell it was only in the catalogs the first couple years, and was soon dropped and only the 6.5" depth remained. While it may be possible to find the 5" depth, it will be a hard search. I have never seen one for sale anywhere in all the years I have been buying drums. The 6.5" depth is easily and readily found though.

As for finding one, eBay and Reverb.com and the two best resources for a drum like that. Good luck!

Do you have a 14x6.5" FF chassis?

If so, you can just buy a new 14x5 steel shell (with no holes) for about $80 and drop it into the chassis.

Good advice by MusicMan^ and another option is to buy a shell from somewhere like here that is not drilled and just drop it in, works like a charm I am told

They have other shell materials as well to choose from.

    Great looking drums!

Wouldn't the one on the left be Pearl's Fourth gen.? It looks like it has their new strainer...

I bought a 6,5 brass a month ago.. Its built from NOS parts for gen 2 together with a shell from gen 1 here in Sweden. Im thinking of get some professional help to make a shell in aluminium diamond plate. Should maybe look and sound nice? Name: 15626086189786606965529124653851.jpg
