A few years ago I started using the EC2's on the floor toms and G2's on the rack toms. It's a nice combo, get a little more ring and volume out of the smaller rack toms while the floor toms shake the room with the super low controlled tones from the muffled heads.

I've done another drum cover but anyone who's expecting a note for note cover don't watch because i made my own version. Sadly enough i couldn't find a drumless track so you can hear the original drummer aswel.

Hey scary! Read your post above. I've never owned a wooden snare. But for the music you and I play, my Mapex brass master is awesome! A lot of crack and rim shots that echo for days. Just my 2.

Looks like i've come to that conclusion myself hehe as you can read in my snare thread. I've only played a Pearl free floater brass at the store but i was blown away by it ! Played more then 2 hours all kinds of wooden snares and there really wasn't one that i loved. Don't get me wrong there were a couple of really good snares too (the Pearl signature Vinnie Paul one for example) but i didn't had the wow-effect on either one of them.
Will be interesting to see wich snare i eventually will end up buying

As for snares, I now have two Starclassics (best snare I've heard), two PRemiers (one mahogany and one other soon), I also had a green PDP snare that sounded great.
There's a Vision with a standard snare and Remo's in my band practice room. That snare sounds so boring, compared to one of my Starclassics.

    Smile Little changes

Ever since i saw how PDF member Drumfreek005 mounted his octobans i wanted to try his set-up aswel.

Today i switched my UX-80's to a horizontal position and my homemade ttops fitted in them (almost) vertical so i could mount the RR's drumfreek's way.
Haven't had a chance to play this new set-up (problaby tomorrow) so it's possible i have to make some minor adjustments. If i like this set-up more then the previous one i'll buy 2 short ux-80s because i don't like those horizontal bars sticking out that far and maybe cut down that cowbell holder a bit aswel...
