Default Got me a Yamaha 8000!

Hiya Guys, I saw this kit a coupla years back at a drummer pals of mine, and there was no way he was gonna let it go. Well he called me on friday asking if I still wanted it. I didn't need time to think, so went up and picked her up. What can I say? These are simply astonishingly good drums, mahogany with a birch sandwich, they are warm, loud, and punchy as hell. Sizes are 24" x 18, 13 x 9" and a 15" by 16" floor tom. People rave on about the 9000 recording sets, and I have no idea if it's warranted, but I am told these babies were made for live work, and I can't wait to get working with her. The lacquer is lustrous, and the hardware solid and slick. Pics here (will upload some better ones in the week)

That's a thing of beauty! Treat her nice! One thing, though...are you sure that's an 18"x24"? Looks more like a 16"x24", which would've been a more common size for that period. Either way...nice score! Enjoy!

Soooo great! 24" kicks rule, even they are 24x14" (like mine), and paradiddle666 may be right, yours seems 16" to me too. But who cares? This is a real beauty, good luck playin' it!

    Killer set.

Those drums are every bit as good as Recording Customs.
