    Just scored this to match my lovely mahogany sweeties. Yep, you guys KNOW it's an 8" beast. This is a 9000 snare drum, and will compliment my yams nicely.

    That is absolutely true. The amazing part, is that the "mahogany" in there is just the luan/"philippine" stuff combined half and half with the top grade birch. Goes to show you what they can do with the right thickness and manufacturing process.

    ...Just picked up a beautiful 4-pc 1998 Pearl Session Custom off Craigslist as my 1st accoustic set.
    24-14-12-10 in Cranberry Fade. I see a Yamy 8000 16x16 on eBay almost the same color at a fair price.
    Thanks for the favorable review, This would make a solid addition!
