Yeah, the Ultracast is fantastic all my friends banded together and got me it for my 18th birthday. It's loud as hell, but it doesn't have too much ring on it, nice sustain and it's surprisingly sensitive.

They are BX5s indeed, I really like them. A very good budget monitor. They give a very true sound, with a nice mix of bass + treble. I'm no monitor expert, but I really like them.

Those are Beyerdynamic Opus 87/88s and I'll have some new recordings later today.

Hey guys, I just ran out to get something down quickly for a sound sample, terrible drumming, but an example of the sound, there's no effects or EQ on any of the tracks, just a tiny bit of level tweaking.

Try and listen with decent PC speakers or headphones, because crappy speakers (like the ones on the Macbook I'm typing on) just butcher the sound and destroy the bass.

You need to be careful, you clipped your stereo bus at 1:19, likely because you have the huge bass on the kick drum and a lot of low end on the crashes. You should probably low-cut (high-pass) your overheads. If you didn't clip it when you mixed it, then you clipped it to tape, which means you need to be a little more careful when setting your levels before tracking.

Yeah I know, I was just doing it quickly, odds are I clipped it in the mix, because the levels were fine during tracking.
