Where did you go? How is the Mapex Armory holding up? Did it come with a Black Panther Snare?

Hey Lonny! I'm still around, I just haven't been in the Masters section recently. I've got a new girlfriend and my bands have been more active recently so I haven't been on the PDF quite as much. The Armory kit is great, I used it at the last two gigs. Here's a couple pictures of me playing it with my metal cover band and my original band...

I think the snare is just the Mapex Armory Tomahawk snare, it's a 14x5.5 steel snare, sort of similar to my Chad Smith but not as pretty LOL. It's a good general purpose snare drum. When I bought the kit the guy who owned it previously had put a better set of snares on the bottom. Those two gigs in the pictures are the first time I actually used the snare drum, I normally take one of my Pearl snares or one of my old Ludwigs.

Looks fantastic + 2 more great tea shirts! My classic rock band could be dead as I'm am now waiting for that guitarist to come up with a bass player he likes.

I'm having fun with the alternative band as the 40ish kids aren't as grouchy as the 60something kids.

I picked up a Sabian AAX 17" Concept Crash to use as my 4th crash (above the 16" floor tom) on this Pearl kit. Despite being an AAX, it has a really dark and mellow sound that I like a lot. Right now the cymbal configuration is:

    14" K Light Hi-Hats
18" A Medium Thin Crash (this one is about 22 years old at this point and sounds AMAZING)
17" K Dark Thin Prototype Crash
    17" A Custom Medium Crash
20" K Jazz Ride (this one is also about 22 years old now)
    17" AAX Concept Crash

I find this setup works well for my original band that's sort of a mix of 60s rock and 90s grunge.

This blue beast has been my primary practice kit at home now for several years. It's still a joy to play.

I can't see your beautiful kit with the red light on it. That should be pointed at the singer! LOL!
