Default Guide to making a cadence?

I have noticed that there a at least a few people that have posted asking for free or ideas for drum cadences. I too am interested in getting some, but it seems that the best way is to come up with one on your own. I have tried and have made some less than decent run offs. Perhaps we could come up with some type of guide to making your own cadence?

A guide isn't really necessary. Not all songs are verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge, chorus... and not all cadences use the same formula, either. It's just about making something that sounds good.

Songs are really just very interesting things to be doing with the air.

when I wrote my cadence what I did was wrote out some rhythms that I liked and then used transitions to go between them.

If you've ever been hacking and play something then say "hey thats pretty cool"... build off of that and turn it into a cadence. Thats what our instructor did, and our cadence is ballin'. lol

make it groove man! Cadences dont really have to be the most technical things you play, especially if you dont have a highly talented line. Make it fun to play and fun to listen to.
