wuuuurd. I've always concidered the two of them to have some STRIKING similarities. It's the sole reason why i can't take chad smiths playing seriously when i see him live, i keep thinking will ferrell is playing drums.

I've seen videos of him using K Zildjians as well.

He's sitting in front of his drums so you can only barely make out the rack tom. Is it just me or does that rack tom seem to have a DW-like top lug & a Pearl-like bottom lug?

Sorry if this is vague but I just kind of noticed this when people said he plays Gretsch in the studio.

    Yeah, the graphics are amazing.

I saw Eleven (opening for Pearl Jam in '94) with Jack Irons on drums, and his DW kit had dolphin/ocean graphics, painted by the same guy as Chad's.

Those records were a DW/Gretsch mix, I think... mainly Dubs though.

    Chad smiths kits (RHCP)

Blood sugar sex magic album - Some kind of grestch kit with a mixture of paiste , zildjian and sabian cymbals.

One hot minute - I think it was either pearl or gretsch drums with a similar mix of cymbals.

Californication - as other people have said maybe dw or i know on the track californication he used a pearl masters not sure what series. Sabian ymbals

By the way Not sure what kit most likely the same as above

Greatist hits tour - pearl masters sabian cymbals .

Stadium arcadium - eiter pearl or dw toms always a dw bass drum .

New album is - His custom pearl reference tattokit with a DW bass not his choice , the producer rick rubin insisted on this.

Every tour with any band it has been either a Pearl Reference or maasters with sabian cymbals.

    Hope this helps
