Very nicely done the kit refurb. Love seeing those kits come back to life.

Nice job indeed - not only has it brought that kit back to life, but the new wrap is something different and sets it apart. You were very lucky with the hardware, as the lugs are very prone to breaking, so that was a good result.

The only hardware I had to replace was a couple plastic locking rings for the toms and 2 air vents. Early on I read about the lugs, and that was one thing I looked at when i met the seller. It was VERY hard to hold back my excitement, they were all in good condition. I was easy on them, took my time, and didn't over tension them when putting it all back together.

Mind if I sneak in a few images of my GLX? My BLX is currently completely stripped down...

It's a bit rare, but I find it incredibly useful for lesser volume, "Smooth Jazz" gigs!

Yeah, between the Rocktagons and the power toms, I guess I'm stuck in the 80's, hoping to relive my teenage years. Only now, I have much less hair on my head, a few more pounds in my midsection and "Rice Crispy" joints that constantly snap, crackle and pop.

Not sure if I should post this here, but here is my (pre-MLX) 1980 G-Series Maple shell Big Beat kit in high gloss Walnut lacquer, and 14×6.5 COB Jupiter snare. I'm head over heels in love with them. Best sounding kit I've ever played!

Really nice kit, congrats...Jupiter snare looks especially clean.

Random side comment, I'm curious about the wall art in the 4th pic. Is that some sort of 3D esophageal, histological cross-section sculpture?

Thanks! Found the whole kit in a pawn shop for $600. Cymbals, hardware, everything. The Jupiter looks especially clean because I just recently took it all apart and cleaned everything while I was putting some new heads on it. I plan to do the same with the rest of them as soon as possible. I think they'll clean up just as nice.

As far as the piece of art I'm not exactly sure what that is. That pic was taken in a jam space that belongs to a friend of mine, but I've only been there a few times and didn't pay much attention to the wall art. I'll have to check it out next time I'm over there.
