Default My first kit - Red Sparkle Premier 4 piece

It all started here. Now you know where I got the inspiration for the red sparkle color...

Don't make fun of my retro-look, it was almost 30 years ago! yes, i still play the drums with my tongue out.

I was a Keith Moon fan, my parents got this from a family friend and gave it to me for Christmas. I played for 2 years before I got a snare drum, and 2 more before I got this.

My mom put a caption on the back of this picture "Happiness". That says it all. I had to promise her I would send back the old polaroid after I scanned it in.

Ride Cymbal was made by the fabulously memorable "Krut" company. It did have Zildjian Hi-hats, though.

And a squeeky old Ludwig "Speed King".

Sound of these drums was totally unmemorable.

I wish I hadn't sold it, for the nostalgia factor.

    Default MHX Kit #1

I always loved the 20" bass drum on this kit. It ranks as my second punchiest ever. I highly recommend 20" Bass Drum for the MHX configuration, if you want a punch. This was actually back from when they were called "Mahogany classics". Note the ISS mounts.

I have since grown to NOT like the sound of MHX high (8, 10, and 12") toms.

I really like the low toms, but not in a floor tom style (I like leg-less suspended floor toms because I am a rack kind of guy). I sold this one on e:bay for $1900. I got a good buck for it because I had the 5" AND the 6.5" matching MHX snares.

I sort of regretted selling it because the bass was so good. I have since bought another MHX which I may sell - I will post that one later.
