Nice purchase. It's very hard to find those shiny brass shells in perfect condition (or to even find a third party shell in the shiny brass finish to build your own).

Maybe the guy got the drum, realized it was too thick and heavy, and realized it wasn't a good idea.
Hi,
Based upon my experience, the copper shell would probably sell because it is discontinued and in good condition. It just depends upon how soon you want to sell it.
I would list it at $199...
Nice photos.
I like the converted floor tom with the smaller set up. :)
If that's what you really want, then you have to wait a little bit. The time goes by quickly and it's worth it. Just put your order in after the first the year and it would come in about 4 months.
CUZNRED,
I put in a new MW order every 6 months. Sometimes they arrive in 2-3 months, and sometimes it takes 4-6 months. The time goes by fast once you get used to it. If you want it...
I have 14" and 16" Pearl bass drums and I think it depends upon what they are used for. I wouldn't use either of them for a rock gig in a larger room. However, it's nice to be able to carry...
That works :)
It looks like a cast phosphor bronze shell. There is no "bell brass" (except in mistaken Tama branding).

My only suggestion would be that, if you plan to sell or upgrade the kit in the future, then I would change the 12x7 to 12x8 and the 22x20 to a 22x18.
The 22x20 and the 12x7 are not very...
Yep, you'd think with all the effort they make to sell exotic drums, that they would think about balancing the finish and the hardware more aesthetically.
My sentiments exactly. I think Sonor makes the same mistake with those big double-mallet lugs they use.
Hi,
Here's another custom Pearl Sensitone snare that I added to my collection this week.
This one is a 14x8 beaded black nickel over brass shell with ARL-65 lugs, SR-150 strainer, Fat Tone...
I agree too. Never liked the larger DW turrent lugs.
Hi,
Here's a new snare drum I added to my Pearl Sensitone "custom" collection. This one has a 1.2mm chrome plated hammered steel shell. The Pearl hardware is the ARL-65 lugs with SR-150...
I like that powder coated finish.
I have a couple of Pearl MCT kits and they are an outstanding value. :)
The wait time has gotten better.
My last two MW orders both arrived in less than three months. :)
I agree :)
Me too. :)
Another thing I like about using the ARL- series lugs is that they have standard Pearl mounting screw spacing. Thus, everything can be changed later (if preferred). Using the STL- series lugs...
Dale,
I agree in the sense that I do think the ARL- style of lug looks better on the metal snare drums. However, they do currently use them on the Sensitone wood snares.
My intent over the...
Hi,
Here are my custom Pearl Sensitone olive wood snare drums in 14x5 and 14x6.5 sizes.
They both feature 5.4mm shells, ARL- series swivel lugs, SRL-150 strainer, and Fat Tone hoops. Satin...
Nice set of vintage snare drums!
I have to keep my collection in cases and storage so my wife doesn't see when things "come and go" from the collection. ;)
Nice finish. Put some legs on that large tom though.
